HOW DO I....?
...Obtain A Repeat Prescription?

If you are taking regular medication your prescription will be recorded on the computer. Repeats can be requested by bringing (or sending in) your repeat prescription counterfoil to the surgery. After a number of repeats, you will be asked to make an appointment to see a doctor to review your medication.

Under normal circumstances, your repeat prescriptions should be requested at least two working days in advance (seven days if sent by post - be sure to enclose a stamped, addressed envelope). We can arrange for prescriptions to be delivered direct to a chemist if you would prefer.

We do not accept repeat prescriptions requests over the telephone.

Medical Certificates

If you require a medical certificate from your doctor for six working days' absence or less, a private certificate will be issued for which there is a charge.

After the first week certificates are obtained as part of a consultation with a doctor. If you are under the care of a hospital doctor you may ask them to issue your certificate for an in-patient stay or an out-patient appointment.
